The Indoor Flight School is designed to give an overview of the training skills needed to instruct your parrot to successfully fly in your home.
Indoor Flight School classes will cover:

  • Interpreting parrot body language

  • Safe indoor flying
  • Training "off-limits" in the home
  • Live bird demonstrations

    • The Outdoor Flight School is designed to give you an overview of the training skills necessary for successfully and responsibly flying your parrot outside.
    Outdoor Flight School classes will cover:
  • The free-flying candidate
  • Positive reinforcement training for free-flying
  • Food and weight management
  • Flight recall
  • Keeping free-flying parrots safe outdoors
  • Sites to fly your parrots
  • Recovery strategies
  • Live free-flying demonstrations
    • Avian Flight and Neurological development will be a lecture on the positive effects flight has on the avian brain.
    The lecture will cover:
  • The importance of flight to the normal development of the avian brain
    • Clicker Training Clinic is a six-hour class demonstrating and practicing positive reinforcement training techniques on parrots using a clicker.
    The Clicker Training Clinic will cover:
  • Students will learn positive reinforcement techniques using a clicker
  • Students will train birds provided by Cockatoo Downs
  • Active students limited to six - SOLD OUT
